Two Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
